Increased traceability in KitKatBack in 2016, KitKat became the first brand at Nestlé to source all its cocoa through the Nestlé Cocoa Plan following a mass balance approach starting in Europe. Today, we source traceable cocoa liquor for our major KITKAT® factories in Europe from cocoa farming families who participate in Nestlé's Income Accelerator Program. Additionally, we procure cocoa from the Nestlé Cocoa Plan, which includes volumes of Rainforest Alliance certified mass balance cocoa, as well as Nestlé Cocoa Plan verified volumes.

The Nestlé Cocoa Plan is building on more than a decade of experience in the field with the support and help of our partners. Progress and impact are made possible only with their support beginning with cocoa-farming families and the local communities.
